John is a senior advisor at the University of Wyoming School of Energy Resources helping guide SER-led carbon-management strategies, including developing objectives and implementation plans for research and demonstration programs.  During his time as director of carbon transport and storage at the U.S. he led efforts to promote the development of carbon-management technologies at commercial scales while also managing a portfolio of applied research and development projects on geologic storage, CO2 utilization and pre-combustion capture.  He previously served as the deputy director for research and development in the Office of Clean Coal and Carbon Management; program manager for carbon capture at DOE; technology manager for carbon sequestration at the National Energy Technology Laboratory; and a senior team leader on environmental compliance and assessment with the U.S Army.
